an apparition

dreams of grandeur, dreams of riches,
moments of imagination readily beseech us.
the pertinacious wants of man,
masking the importance of our land.
offered a way, I would gladly take it,
after all, it's only a gambit.
but for now I remain without statute,
never following any word of fiat.
falling deeper into the web of deception,
further away from the chance of correction.
